Why J.W. Kim Taekwondo?
When new students come to our school, a common and understandable
question they may have is “what makes you different from other
Taekwondo schools?” Below are a few qualities that we believe set
us apart.
Attention
We have one of the best student to
instructor ratios you’ll find anywhere. Our Little Dragon classes
often have a 3 to 1 ratio and our children’s classes are often 5 to 1
or better. By creating these great ratios we are able to provide
our students with the attention they deserve.
Attitude
We work very hard here to promote a
positive attitude and atmosphere. We constantly challenge our
students in a supportive environment teaching students that with some
perseverance and a positive attitude, you can always accomplish more
than you believe.
Experience
We have been in business for nearly
16 years. No martial arts school knows the Greenwood Village,
Cherry Hills Village, Highlands Ranch, and Castle Pines areas
better. We work consistently with various schools, health clubs,
and organizations and we routinely support schools and charitable
efforts in our community.
Instructors
All of our head instructors are
well qualified. They are all at least 2nd degree black belts and
have been students for a minimum of 5 years. Most of our head
instructors are now 3rd or 4th degree black belts. They have also
spent several years in our STORM Team program which teaches young
students to become leaders and instructors inside and outside of the
dojang.
Private Lessons
We offer private lessons with
any of our master instructors. Private lessons are a great way to
get ahead for belt testing, get caught up after a long vacation, or
just work to perfect your techniques. In addition, we give every
student under 13 the opportunity to have one free private lesson with a
STORM team member each month.
More Than Just Taekwondo
In addition to
teaching Taekwondo, we also offer a variety of other events to our
students. Some of the events we have coordinated in the past
include the following:
- Birthday parties
- Parents’ Night Out
- Community safety seminars
- Intra-school tournaments
- Community service projects
Not Just a Black Belt, a J.W. Kim Black Belt
Our students are exposed to one of the most expansive and comprehensive
curriculums that we have seen at any school. In addition, we have
life skills discussions with all of our children at the beginning of
each class. Through their training we teach our students to
embody and live the Tenets of Taekwondo (Courtesy, Integrity,
Perseverance, Indomitable Spirit, and Self-Control). In addition,
all of our black belts are required to complete community service
projects. Students who are able to become role models in their
community exemplify our expectations of a J.W. Kim Black Belt.
